Welcome Message

Dear Friends,

“Love admits no schism, love makes no sedition, love does all things in concord... In love did the Master receive us" (St. Clement of Rome). It is fitting that the words of our patron, St. Clement of Rome, should open this greeting, for he understood that the Church is at her best when she gathers as one — bound not by sameness, but by a shared love of Jesus Christ. In an age that so often measures us by what divides us, the Gospel reminds us of a deeper truth: that through his Cross and Resurrection, the Lord has gathered strangers into a single household and made of us a family. Here, those who are weary from the weight of ordinary life are meant to find rest; here, whatever our background or station, we are all fed at the same table and made holy by the same grace.

To foster that living encounter with God is, above all, the heart of what we do at St. Clement. Through the Sacred Liturgy, through sound catechesis, and through the many apostolates of our parish, we hope to fall ever more deeply in love with Christ and to carry his saving mercy to everyone we meet. And we hope, sincerely, that you will take your place among us.

Whether you have worshipped here for years or are crossing our threshold for the very first time, on behalf of our clergy and our entire staff, I welcome you with great joy.

Queridos amigos:

«El amor no admite cisma, el amor no provoca sedición, el amor todo lo hace en concordia... En el amor nos acogió el Maestro» (San Clemente de Roma). Es muy oportuno que las palabras de nuestro patrono, San Clemente de Roma, abran este saludo, pues él comprendió que la Iglesia da lo mejor de sí cuando se reúne como una sola — unida no por la uniformidad, sino por el amor compartido a Jesucristo. En una época que tantas veces nos mide por aquello que nos divide, el Evangelio nos recuerda una verdad más profunda: que, por medio de su Cruz y Resurrección, el Señor ha reunido a los extraños en una sola familia y ha hecho de nosotros una sola casa. Aquí, quienes están fatigados por el peso de la vida cotidiana están llamados a encontrar descanso; aquí, cualquiera que sea nuestro origen o condición, todos somos alimentados en la misma mesa y santificados por la misma gracia.

Promover ese encuentro vivo con Dios es, ante todo, el corazón de lo que hacemos en San Clemente. Por medio de la Sagrada Liturgia, de una sólida catequesis y de los numerosos apostolados de nuestra parroquia, esperamos enamorarnos cada vez más profundamente de Cristo y llevar su misericordia salvadora a todos los que encontramos. Y esperamos, sinceramente, que ocupe su lugar entre nosotros.

Ya sea que haya rendido culto aquí por años o que cruce nuestro umbral por primera vez, en nombre de nuestro clero y de todo nuestro personal, ¡le doy la bienvenida con gran alegría!

Que Dios lo(a) bendiga y lo(a) guarde siempre en la palma de su mano.
